You explore areas, collect items, and solve puzzles. Star Trek mostly plays like an adventure game. You must take control of the crew in order to repair, refuel, and return the ship to Federation space so that you can investigate the cause of the disturbance. In the process, the ship is damaged, and the dilithium crystals are drained, leaving the enterprise stranded in a decaying orbit around an unidentified planet. While investigating, a tear in space opens up and flings the enterprise off to an unknown part of space. At the start of the game the Enterprise arrives at the Sigma Iotia system, where they start encountering fluxuations in the gravitational fields. While it is not necessary to have seen the episode before playing, it does reference characters from the story as well as others like Harry Mudd.

To coincide with the anniversary, there were also games released on the Nintendo Gameboy and PC platforms published by Ultra Games and Interplay respectively. These steps just put everything in folders under the home directory. Here are all the commands needed to get a basic setup going on an up to date Raspian install. Either way, going back to the 0.6.11 tag on Calibre-Web solved the issue. It could also be a compatibility issue if the version of Calibre in the Raspbian repository is older, as I didn't dig too deep. I am not sure if that is a general issue due to ongoing work in the current branch, or if something was introduced that specifically caused an issue on the Pi.

Secondly, I ran into problems when running the latest code from the Calibre-Web repository. Luckily, if you are using Raspbian on your Pi, there is a Calibre build in the standard repositories. Once you get it setup, it should work pretty much the same, but there were two differences in the install process.įirst of all, the install script from the Cailbre site doesn't work because the Rasperry Pi uses the ARM architecture instead of x86. Since I had a Pi 3 sitting here I thought I would give it a try and document the differences. I had a couple of people ask/comment about running this from a Raspberry Pi. I had hoped that maybe the vertical piece connectors from Gravitrax would hold the bridge across the gap, but alas they are not designed for that, so I used some Command Strip Shelves to hold them up. That expanded into having a coaster around my shelves of figures and other things, so I ordered in a few sets of Gravitrax, and found some automated lifts and other pieces on a couple of Etsy shops. Since I was staring at my television while watching them, the idea of having the marbles go back and forth over it popped into my head. I went down a rabbit hole of watching some marble run videos over a few days. Just a quick little quarantine project that I thought turned out okay.
